This is my Reflective Teaching portfolio on my reflective practice as an instructor of mathematics and reflective teaching and learning at secondary school and post secondary school levels. I have adopted the UK Higher Education Academy’s six areas (HEA, 2006) of professional development format. Reflecting on the learning process is very insightful. It can reveal certain hiding issues, ideas, concepts, personality, difficulties, challenges among others that one is not initially aware of or was plain ignorant about them. Reflecting in practice is both a learning experience and equally flavors the teaching process since it make teaching - learning process to be more of an eye opening adventure.
In writing my reflective portfolio, I have been inspired by Biggs & Tang (2007) and Moon (1999). You will note that I have cited them quite often in comparison to other equally inspiring authors.
The Blog is a journal on reflective practice but biased to higher academic practice. The daily experiences of a facilitator of learning in higher education can form an informative and captivating narrative of the learning process. The reflections too, can form a basis to leading a more productive and enriched life.
